Mercedes could be confirmed as 2026 Formula One constructors' champions as early as this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo, just a week after Kimi Antonelli secured the drivers' title in Mexico.

According to Motorsport.com, the German manufacturer arrives at Interlagos on 630 points, holding a 126-point advantage over Ferrari, who sit second on 504.

With only 129 points left to be won once the Brazilian weekend is over, Mercedes would put the title beyond reach by finishing at least three points ahead of Ferrari at the circuit.

Motorsport.com outlined three results that would guarantee the championship outright: a Mercedes win combined with a second-, third- or fourth-place finish for the team's other car.

Should neither Mercedes driver score in Brazil, the contest would carry on to Las Vegas. Even then, the team would still have three further chances to clinch the crown, at the Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi rounds.

Team principal Toto Wolff had urged calm before the Mexican Grand Prix, insisting the squad would keep its focus on the basics. "Thinking about the outcome won't help us achieve it," he said.

Further down the constructors' order, Red Bull hold third on 382 points, ahead of McLaren on 365.

In the drivers' standings, Antonelli leads on 380 points after claiming his first title, while a close battle for runner-up continues behind him. Max Verstappen of Red Bull is second on 261, two points ahead of Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton on 259. Antonelli's Mercedes team-mate George Russell is fourth on 250, with Charles Leclerc of Ferrari fifth on 245.
