Anna Leigh Waters has the chance to win three world titles in a single week as the 2026 Opendoor Pickleball World Championships get under way in Texas.
According to a preview published by The Dink, the PPA Tour event is being held at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch from 2 to 8 November. Qualifying starts on Monday, the main draws begin on Tuesday, and all five championship finals are scheduled for Sunday.
The stakes are considerable. Each division winner will collect 3,000 ranking points, giving leading players a way to pull clear in the standings and offering challengers a route to close the gap quickly.
Waters arrives in strong form after winning two golds in Hong Kong: women's doubles with Anna Bright and mixed doubles with Ben Johns. The Dink noted that both of those finals were won in straight games. With singles also on her schedule this time, a clean sweep of three titles is possible.
She is the top seed in women's singles, alongside Bright in women's doubles and with Johns in mixed doubles. The Dink pointed out that Johns and Waters lost a final in Las Vegas before bouncing back in Hong Kong.
The men's doubles draw sets up a potential rematch. Federico Staksrud and Hayden Patriquin, the defending world champions and second seeds, beat top seeds Johns and Gabriel Tardio 11–6, 11–8 in the Hong Kong final. The two pairs have been placed in opposite halves of the bracket, so they could meet again only with the world title on the line.
In men's singles, Christopher Haworth is the top seed, but The Dink suggested that seedings may count for little in a division it considers especially unpredictable.
The opening rounds run on consecutive days, with the round of 64 on Tuesday 3 November, the round of 32 on Wednesday 4 November and the round of 16 on Thursday 5 November.
Main-draw matches from Tuesday to Sunday will be shown on PickleballTV, while Monday's qualifying is being streamed on the PPA Tour YouTube channel.
The early weather outlook is generally mild, though morning showers are possible on Tuesday and Sunday, which could affect the opening round and finals day.
