Carlos Alcaraz added the Erste Bank Open to his collection on Sunday, defeating Alex de Minaur 6-1 6-4 in the Vienna final to take his fourth trophy of 2026.

According to Free Malaysia Today, the victory was the 28th title of the Spaniard's career and stretched his winning run at ATP 500 level to 26 matches. The 23-year-old also finished the year unbeaten at that tier, with a 16-0 record.

Alcaraz had come to Austria having already won titles in Doha and Tokyo, and he wasted little time imposing himself in the final. He broke the Australian in the opening game and soon moved two breaks clear, with De Minaur unable to cope with the pace and pressure from the world number two.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion wrapped up the first set 6-1, taking advantage of short balls and drawing a stream of mistakes from his opponent.

De Minaur, 27, made more of a contest of the second set and matched Alcaraz for extended periods. However, the Spaniard maintained a high standard across the court and closed out the match in 97 minutes.

The result was his seventh straight win over De Minaur.

Both players now move on to the Paris Masters next week. Alcaraz, who has already booked his place at the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin, arrives in strong form after his start to the European indoor swing.

De Minaur will be looking to strengthen his bid to reach the ATP Finals for a third year in a row.
