Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are all reportedly looking at Villarreal right-back Alex Freeman, though none of the interest has been confirmed by the clubs involved.

The claim comes from Football Insider and was included in ESPN's latest round-up of transfer rumours. The 22-year-old United States international has enjoyed a strong 2026, featuring regularly for Mauricio Pochettino's side at the FIFA World Cup.

Tottenham's interest is said to be linked to doubts over the future of Pedro Porro, even though the 27-year-old agreed a new contract in the summer.

ESPN also relayed a TEAMtalk report suggesting Real Madrid are growing more confident of landing Manchester United's 16-year-old attacking midfielder JJ Gabriel. The youngster has not played for United since asking to leave in September and requesting that his registration be cancelled. Efforts to persuade him to stay have so far failed, with a switch to Spain reportedly his preferred option. Real Madrid and Barcelona are seen as the frontrunners, but Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also said to be in the running.

United are reportedly keeping an eye on other targets too. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde, 23, has accepted he may need to leave the Catalan club to secure regular football, and United are among several English sides said to be interested. Balde has yet to start a match this season, with João Cancelo and Xavi Espart ahead of him.

TEAMtalk further claims that United, Everton, Leeds United, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have been told that Monaco striker Folarin Balogun is available, with Juventus also approached. United are said to be weighing up the 25-year-old alongside Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta ahead of the January window.

Elsewhere, Football Insider reports that Tottenham are monitoring Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White, although Forest are believed to be confident of keeping him in January. Caught Offside claims Liverpool are considering centre-backs Nico Schlotterbeck of Borussia Dortmund and Forest's Murillo.

All of these reports remain unconfirmed.
